This year, I have spent hours upon hours in the garden. I
have been digging, constructing, clearing, planting, watering, worrying, stressing,
and of course playing in the dirt. I have experiments that have worked swimmingly.
I also have some things that have flopped. Currently a lot of my hard work is
being poached by the backyard lurkers known as rabbits and raccoons. They have
ripped my bulbs out, uprooted my babies and decimated my lettuce. I will never
kill or hurt them, but I am not above chicken wire and traps. I’ll keep you
posted with my grumblings.
